Installing a solar energy or hot water system is a great way to save on your power bills and reduce your household's greenhouse gas emissions. You can save money and help the planet at the same time. At Macquarie Valley Solar, we can help you find the best solution for your home or business and apply for any rebates you are eligible for.
Dubbo is one of the best places in Australia for trapping the sun’s energy. With our warm climate, the city boasts excellent solar properties and receives 15% more solar radiation than Sydney. More than one in four homes already have roof-based solar panels, with Macquarie Valley residents taking full advantage of the benefits the weather and the Government have to offer.
Attractive Government rebates are available for the installation of eligible renewable energy systems (including solar panels, solar water heaters and heat pumps). Under the Federal Government’s Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), when you install an eligible system, we can help you claim a set number of Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs). How many STCs you can claim depends on:
- the size of the system you install
- where in Australia you install it
- the power it generates.
Claiming a Rebate
We can calculate the size of your solar credits and how many STCs you are eligible for. To make things easier, we then pass the rebate on to you as a discount off the total installation price.
If you want to get an idea of the number of STCs you are eligible for, you can use the calculators on the Clean Energy Regulator website:
- Solar Water Heater STC Calculator.
- Small-scale Generation Unit (small-scale solar panel, wind, and hydro) STC Calculator.
STCs are created in the Government’s online Renewable Energy Certificate registry for correctly installed eligible solar water heaters, heat pumps, and small-scale solar panels, wind, and hydro systems.
